Ibumie Penang Har Mee

by

I was firstly introduced to this Penang Har Mee instant noodle by my aunty (mum’s sis). She told me it was very delicious. Even my cousin sister and my nieces love it. In addition, every time I go to their house I will surely see new packets of this instant noodle.

I had my hands on this Penang Har Mee when Carrefour was doing promotion for 10 packets at a cheaper price. Without even considering the risk, I bought it straight away. Well, it doesn’t turn out to be that delicious. In fact, it is not delicious at all.

I cooked the first packet for my mum. My mum who was a har mee lover hates it. Just imagine. She said the soup was sweet, not spicy and watery. No prawn paste taste at all. So I cooked the second packet for myself with less water. Its really not delicious. Period.

My mum told me she don’t want to eat it anymore. This means that I have to swallow the rest of the 8 packets myself. For the third packet, I put pieces of meat from a fried chicken to cook with the Har Mee. Surprisingly, the chicken taste nice. I also eat with my own sambal. It taste better and spicier. I realised that the soup is very oily. Should put half a packet of oil only.

For the fourth packet, I put lesser water and half a packet of oil. But still it is not spicy though the soup is salty. No har mee taste. Real disappointing. Luckily I have my sambal to spice up my life. This time I realise the noodle is kenyal (what is kenyal in english?). More kenyal than Maggi Kari Letup. I took some picture of the Har Mee and the mee still didn’t swell up and become yuckily soft. One good point to encourage me to finish up the remaining 6 packets. Gosh!!!
